What is pre-authorization?

Card pre-authorization is commonly referred to as pre-auth. You can think of it as a pre-approval process to ensure that the customer is using a valid credit card.

At checkout, once the customer enters their card information and clicks Pay, the information entered including CVV is validated. This process is attempted with the bank by charging the card with a minimal fee (up to 1 THB) and if successful, the charge is voided.
